Follow these steps to install and use this bar code font.

• Download the font and save the font to disk.
• On your computer, click on start, settings, control panel, fonts - file, install new font - then click on the Code39.ttf file you downloaded.
• using any program, enter a string of characters - starting with an "*" and ending with an "*".  Then change the font to Code 39 and the size to larger than 14.  Most any bar code scanner will read the characters into almost all applications.

Note: Word for Windows treats a string beginning with an "*" and ending with an "*" as a command to bold the string. Turn this feature off in

• Tools (on the top menu bar)
• AutoCorrect (in the first pull down 5 down),
• AutoFormat as You Type (* to bold 5^th choice down in second section)
• Uncheck the box.
